Website redesign

One major challenge of going through a rebrand as a company is all of the historical materials and of course the website. Working with a team and rolling up my sleeves and doing some work myself we moved from the old brand quickly to an interim design and then through continuous improvement to bring the site full vison to life.

Where it was

The old site was before my time at the company but was set up on outdated version of WordPress and had not been updated in a few years.

The initial project parameters:

  • Keep the same WP template

  • Implement the brand across the site pages in an interim style

  • Get the site updated as soon as possible with no/minimal site interruption

Assets were duplicated and styles were stale

We took the main pages and within a very condensed timeline launched an interim style

We overhauled from back-end to front-end

We optimized performance of our SEO bring in more organic traffic by over 30% YoY and moved to a better hosting environment for faster load speeds and a reduced cost. But a major hurdle along that path was our reorganized and refreshed resources center.

But we weren’t done by a long shot

We quickly had a plan and were not satisfied. With our team and a few select contractors to accelerate our speed of execution we made a plan and got to work. Oh and won an award for our product launch too.

2024 Best Product Launch

You can see more work that went into this award in some of my video projects and other YS related work but one of the main focal points of this launch was our informative and newly styled webpage for our full product offering.

Energized by our success we quickly moved on to bring a fresh new look that really showed off the new brand.

I learned that even with a small team and a constrained budget, you can achieve remarkable results when everyone is aligned. The process had its challenges, but it was an incredible opportunity. With just a few contractors and two other team members, we overcame obstacles, won awards, and brought the site in line with the company’s lofty ideals.

What did I learn
